Integrated Service Delivery

Staffordshire Children's Trust is leading the integrated service delivery programme across children's services to ensure much closer collaboration across all services working with children, young people their families and carers.

The programme board is managing the development of prevention and early intervention services and how integrated service delivery, at this level, should be mainstreamed across all children's services.

Having completed extensive background research, on integrated service delivery the Children's Trust has made a significant commitment to developing locality working and the Community & Learning Partnerships have become widely accepted as the means for achieving this, particularly with those organisations delivering universal and early preventative work. There is a now a C&LP, 50 in total, covering every district in the County. They are successfully drawing together agencies and local organisations to assess need and deliver locally commissioned services.  Click here to find out more information about the impact of integrated services on children, parents and families, following an inspection by Ofsted on 20 Sure Start children's centres across the country.

The work to achieve better integration across prevention and early intervention services should be done in conjunction with specialist and targeted services that focus their work on individual children in need as well as targeted groups or whole communities. Integration across all levels will make a real difference and improve outcomes for children; it will be further enhanced if integration of specialist and targeted services are developed in ways to compliment the more locally based services.

Therefore, the programme is aiming to develop a flexible framework, which takes account of these factors the Continuum of Need will provide a basis to support a workable structure for integrated service delivery. It is also essential to work with other initiatives for the development of children's services Joint Commissioning and the Integrated Youth Support Service as well as Aiming High for Disabled Children
