Staffordshire Children's Trust Executive

A recent review of the Staffordshire Children's Trust Executive has been undertaken to ensure it is a focussed group with representatives of each District/Borough, both Primary Care Trusts, and each County multi-agency group e.g. Staffordshire Safeguarding Children Board (SSCB).  It also has representatives of universal and targetted children and young people's services.  

This group is the 'engine room' of the Trust making decisions about how to integrate the services that we will need to provide for children and young people in the future.  The group is continuously working to oversee the development of the District Children's Trust Boards so that there is one main planning and commissioning body for children in each district of the County.  It is also working on joint commissioning arrangements for new areas for integrating the commissioning of services for children and young people, building on existing developments in areas such as early years, children and young people with complex needs and mental health services for children and young people. 

A major piece of work that the Trust is undertaking is the delivery of the Staffordshire Local Area Agreement priorities and indicators, which directly or indirectly relate to children and young people across Staffordshire. 

The Executive are responsible on behalf of the Trust Board for the implementation of the Children and Young People's Plan 2007-10 by ensuring integrated service delivery, via mechanisms such as the Community & Learning Partnerships.  The Executive are also responsible for monitoring the performance of the Plan's outcomes for children and their families.  The Plan is currently being reviewed and refreshed to ensure the priorities are correct.

In addition the Staffordshire Children's Trust Executive is supporting and co-ordinating the roll out of the Common Assessment Framework [CAF] and ContactPoint (Information Sharing and Assessment), Children with Disabilities Services review, as well as other strategies such as the Parenting and Family Support Strategy.
