Staffordshire Children and Young People's Strategic Partnership (former Children's Trust Executive)
Following the removal of the statutory requirement to have a Trust or a children and young people's plan; and the development of the Health and Wellbeing Boards, the Children's Trust Board made the following recommendations at their meeting on 28th March 2011:
- they (the Children's Trust Board) will no longer meet; and
- due to the Health and Wellbeing Board having a 'cradle to the grave' remit, the current Children's Trust Executive membership should be reviewed and expanded with direct links into the Health and Wellbeing Board, to ensure the focus and priorities around children and young people remains imperative.
This process of 'updating' the Children's Trust Executive has begun and there will be a period of transition whilst we move towards these new arrangements. The first of the changes was a change of name of the meeting to the Staffordshire Children & Young People's Strategic Partnership (SCYPSP), the second was a change of Chair and membership. Further changes are anticipated inline with the development of the Health and Wellbeing Board.
The SCYPSP is still currently the 'engine room' of the Trust making decisions and taking action to integrate the services that we will need to provide for children and young people in the future. The SCYPSP also monitors progress towards the achievement of the outcomes for Staffordshire's children and young people set out in the Children and Young People's Strategic Plan.
