Staffordshire Children and Young People's Strategic Action Plan 2011-12
Staffordshire Children's Trust is a local partnership arrangement committed to working together to improve children's well-being. Our vision is: 'children, young people and their families experience Staffordshire as a great place in which to live, play, learn and achieve, and they will be supported to be healthy and safe from harm'.
To ensure our Vision is achieved: local needs; performance information; consultation with the eight District Trust Boards; and the views of children, young people, their families and staff have been used to identify the key strategic Priority Outcomes. This data has been published and can be found in the 'Data Profiles' listed at the bottom of this page.
The key strategic Priority Outcomes for Staffordshire's children and young people for 2011-12, are as follows:
- Sexual health of young people;
- Emotional health and wellbeing of young people;
- Alcohol and substance misuse;
- Reducing harm to young people associated with violence (carried out by young
people) and those subject to violence (e.g. domestic violence);
- Healthy weights;
- Education (Including those Not in Education, Employment or Training): and
- Tackling child poverty.
The Staffordshire Children & Young People's Strategic Action Plan (CYPP) 2011-12, explains how, by working together in partnership, we will achieve the above key strategic outcomes:

The information within the above Data Profiles has all been fed into and contributed towards the recently published Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) for Staffordshire.
The purpose of a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment is to provide a multi-agency view of 'need'. It identifies 'the big picture' relating to the health and wellbeing needs and inequalities of the local population now and in the future.
The Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 requires primary care trusts and local authorities to undertake joint strategic needs assessments.
A combined (adults' and children's) JSNA has now been written and was published in December 2010. The Report provides general reference information for you to use, as appropriate, within your organisation and we hope you will find it useful.
