Parents' Week 2009

The Changing Face of Families  - Join in and celebrate with Parents' Week Monday 19 - Sunday 25 October 2009

Family life as we know it is changing. All over Britain, in charities, voluntary sector organisations, children's centres, schools and libraries, you are working to help families flourish. This year we want to help you celebrate your unique successes in supporting families and enabling them to thrive.

How do you attract the parents and families you serve? What pulls them in? Who comes back for more? Who is left out?
Parents' Week 2009 is an ideal opportunity for you to:

  • Showcase your work
  • Invite funders, local authorities, your local councillors, MP and journalists to meet the families who use your services
  • Let your families tell them why your services matter

To raise the profile of parents' week across Staffordshire we are going to be doing some media coverage. The press team will be preparing articles for newspapers, twitter, websites and newsletters. We are also aiming to put a directory of activity taking place that week onto the children's trust website.

The Commissioner for Parents, Charlotte Bailey has already made some commitment that week to seeing parents, giving out awards etc, but may still have scope to provide support, attend or help out at any events you have planned - To find out how to contact Charlotte please log onto: /Contacts/

Our work with parents is going from strength to strength and we need to use this week to really celebrate what we are achieving.
