This month sees the formal launch of the Parenting Strategy.
4th November: Half day event for Councillors, Senior Managers and the Children's Trust Board.
The event included parent speakers, workshops, speeches and pledge signing.

Over 40 parents attended the event with senior staff from across the Children's Trust together they celebrated the Parenting Strategy and learnt more about their role in taking it forward.

Double District Events: 9, 19 and 26 November and 7 December
This series of launches which took place in each district provided an opportunity for parents and practitioners to learn more about the strategy.
Key speakers at events included:
- 9 November: Jim Brady - Assistant Director Integrated Services Staffs CC
- 19 November: Michael Harrison - Chief Superintendent Staffordshire Police
- 26 November Sally Rees - Deputy Corporate Director Staffs CC
- 7 December : Cheryl Sharratt - Head of Services Development South Staffs PCT
Workshops about the parenting strategy were run, helping people to understand the purpose of the strategy and the role they could play in taking it forward.

In total over 450 parenting practitioners attended the events and the feedback was positive. Delegates signed an individual pledge agreeing to take the 5 objectives of the parenting strategy forward. The 5 objectives in the strategy are:

- To enhance communication with and improve access to information for parents
- To improve parents access to services
- To improve parent participation and engagement to deliver the Every Child Matters outcomes for children in partnership with parents
- To improve joint and joined up working between 'parenting' services and ensure that there is a clear continuum of support which is well organised and co-ordinated
- To enhance services to support parents in their parenting role, especially as children enter the teenage years and make the transition to adulthood
