Gill Stanford's appointment followed a rigorous selection process which included intensive questioning from a group of eight and nine-year-old children, teenagers and professionals from health, education and social care services.
Gill has worked with children and young people for many years across the range of services for children: in social care, education welfare and the health sector.
Working on behalf of Staffordshire Children's Trust Board, Gill will take a high profile position in raising awareness of the views and interests of Staffordshire's children and young people, in line with the Government's reforms of children's services set out in the Children Act 2004. She will play a vital role in ensuring that effective co-ordination and consideration of the views of children and young people are embedded in the planning, commissioning and delivery of services.
