The last few weeks have gone in the blink of an eye! I've been working with more young people on interview training and the questions that you come up with are always refreshing and very direct. Most adults report that the panel they fear most is the young people's panel, 'cos they never know what questions will be asked! Following the last panel, young people raised questions again about rewards and this is an area that I'll be working on with my children's planning network. Some are happy with vouchers, but many young people aren't and do have strong opinions about rewards being made in the form of the minimum wage; if you have a particularly strong view, please contact me.

I was invited to the annual BBQ organised by Staffordshire's Family Placement Service; it was very well attended by carers and their foster children; I had the honour of judging the fancy dress and 'crowns & tiaras' competitions! Great fun!

As promised last in my last blog - the 16-19 yr olds version of the children and young people's plan is posted on this site; have a look and please comment!

This month the 11 - 16 yr olds met to start the same process. Once completed, again it will be posted here. Well done to Marvin, Carly, Hannah, Alicia, Keli, Hannah, Tom, Becci and Sophie.

A lot of time has been spent looking at a document called the Local Area Agreement (LAA); this is an agreement between central government and local government and partner agencies about what the priorities for children and young people should be over the next three years. It has meant a lot more work for some people, as these agreed priorities must be something that can be achieved and that everyone will be measured on.

Well, I'm off on my hols for two weeks now; I'm taking a slow boat up the canal with my family and dog……………………………………………………
