London 2012 Open Weekend in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent

This weekend (23-25 July) is London 2012 Open Weekend and there are at least 14 events taking place across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. These cultural, sporting and artistic events will mark two years to go until the opening of the 2012 Games.

The theme this year is 'challenge yourself', with all events involving some sort of challenge for the public to try something new or take an existing interest to the next level.

If you are not involved in these activities already I would encourage you to get involved and attend an event or events in your area and let us know what you made of them.

In addition to those listed in the attached PDF there is also Ærra Liða (midsummer)
at Lichfield Cathedral on 24 July 10am - 4pm. This festival celebrates the Staffordshire Hoard, Lichfield's Anglo-Saxon history, the Cathedral, the St Chad Gospels and the Lichfield Angel.
