Some of the organisations on the Directory are not required to be registered with regulatory bodies. Therefore it is important that you make sure that the service is safe and entirely suitable for your needs, below are some of the things you need to look out for.

1. Check that the staff has been appropriately vetted. For more information on this please visit www.crb.gov.uk
2. Check that the service has child protection procedures in place.
3. Check that the staff are qualified and trained in the specific area.
4. Check that the service operates an anti-discriminatory practice.
5. Check that the service protects children, young people and vulnerable adults.
6. Check that the service has a health and safety policy.
7. Check that the service has a complaints procedure.
